Society for Human Resource Management

Founded in 1948, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) is the world’s largest HR membership organization devoted to human resource management. Representing more than 275,000 members in over 160 countries, the Society is the leading provider of resources to serve the needs of HR professionals and advance the professional practice of human resource management. SHRM has more than 575 affiliated chapters within the United States and subsidiary offices in China, India and United Arab Emirates.

The local SHRM chapter strives to promote Human Resource Management knowledge on campus, to organize students with similar interests, and to interact with the Kern County SHRM Chapter.

Meet the Officers

The Society for Human Resource Management is proud to announce the following SHRM Organization Officers for the 2018-2019 Academic Year:

Pamela Rivera- President

Pamela RiveraPamela Rivera was raised in Lamont, California and lives in Bakersfield. She serves as the President of the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) CSUB Chapter. She graduated from Bakersfield College with an Associate Degree in Business Administration and transferred to California State University, Bakersfield (CSUB) to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Concentration in Human Resources. Mrs. Rivera will be graduating in December of 2018. Her passions include education, learning, and personal growth!

 

Katelynn Harris-Vice President

Katelynn Harris“My name is Katelynn Harris and I am a senior at here at CSUB. I am currently serving as the Vice President of the SHRM group here at CSUB. I’m getting my Bachelor’s in Business Administration, and both my passion and concentration are Human Resource Management.”

 

 

 

Haley Vicente- Secretary

Haley Vicente“My name is Haley Vicente and I am a senior here at CSUB majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management.  I am from Las Vegas, Nevada and was recruited here to CSUB to play for the Women’s Soccer team.  Currently, I am the Secretary for the SHRM club here on campus.  I am excited to be graduating in the Spring of 2019!”

 

 

Diana Rodriguez- Social Chair

Diana Rodriguez“My name is Diana Rodriguez and I am the social chair for the SHRM chapter at CSUB. I am a Business Administration major with a concentration in Human Resource Management as well as a minor in Public Administration. I am a first-generation college student; my parents both migrated from Mexico to the United States when I was an infant. Some of the people who motivate me in school and life, in general, have to be my beloved parents, niece, and my close friends from school. They have always been a great support system. I am so grateful to say that this is my last semester.”

 

Alyssa Perez- Social Chair

Alyssa Perez“My name is Alyssa Perez and I am a senior here at CSUB. I hold the social chair in SHRM and plan to volunteer at a few gatherings this semester on behalf of SHRM. My area of study is Business Administration, with a concentration in Human Resources Management. After receiving my bachelor’s degree, I plan to further my education and receive a MBA. Aside from SHRM, I am also in other organizations, work full-time in my area of study, work part-time, and run an online boutique.”

 

 

Alejandra Echeverria- Social Chair

Alejandra EcheverriaAlejandra Echeverria came to the United States at the age of 7 with her family. English was her second language which made it difficult for Alejandra to achieve her goals but not impossible. At age 23, Alejandra anticipates graduating this spring with a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management. She is currently the Social Chairperson of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) chapter at CSUB, Bakersfield.

Alejandra has aspirations to open a bakery, she loves to bake and craft. One day, she wants to travel the world to help homeless children and give them the luxury to taste a dessert. Alejandra is a strong believer in the act of kindness “pay it forward”.

Samantha Gruggett- Membership Officer

Samantha Gruggett“My name is Samantha Gruggett and I am a membership officer for the Society of Human Resource Management club on campus. I am currently a senior at CSUB and anticipate graduating in the spring. I am majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management. I have enjoyed my time here at CSUB and look forward to the future.”

 

Mari-Elizabeth Moore- Membership Officer

Mari-Elizabeth Moore“My name is Mari-Elizabeth Moore, I am a junior here at CSUB majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management. I am originally from Long Beach CA. and transferred to CSUB after receiving my associate's degree in Culture and Communication in 2016. I am currently a Membership Officer for our chapter of Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) at CSUB. I love being a part of this organization because I have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within the HR field. As I visit classrooms across campus and speak to students who may be interested in Human Resources, I am constantly gaining recruiting experience. I expect to graduate in the fall of 2019 and continue to use the knowledge I have gained from being active in SHRM.”

Trevante Hammonds – Social Media Chair

Trevante Hammonds “Hi, I'm Trevante Hammonds. I'm from San Fernando Valley and I am a business major with a concentration in Human Resource. I look forward to seeing the SHRM chapter at CSUB grow in the future.”

 

 

 

Nikki Aringer- Officer

Nikki AringerNikki Aringer is an officer of the CSUB Society for Human Resources club, a member of The National Society for Leadership and Success, and a member of National Honor Society. She will be graduating in Spring 2019 with a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources. Aringer has completed an internship with the Kern County Administrative Office in the Human Resources department and ran a Human Resources department for a mid-sized company over the summer. A few of her favorite hobbies include horseback riding, scuba diving, and traveling all over the world. Aringer currently holds an Associate’s degree in Exotic Animal Training and Management and is very excited to start her career in Human Resources Management.

 

Estefania Blanco- Member

 Estefania Blanco“My name is Estefania Blanco, I am a Business Administration student with a concentration in Human Resource Management. I was born and raised in Bakersfield by both of my Hispanic parents learning to work in the heat picking grapes as a teen. I currently work at Kern Schools FCU as an MSR II and hope to grow my career in Human Resources within the company after graduation.”

 

 

 

Rajpal Kaur- Member 

Rajpal Kaur“I’m currently in my last semester at CSUB. My major is Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and Finance. SHRM is a great chapter to be a part of. Students are able to meet individuals in various sectors. Mr. See provides great support for students to be independently successful with their role in SHRM.”

 

 

Adenna McKay- Member

Adenna McKay“My name is Adenna McKay. I am currently a senior and anticipate graduating in December of 2018. I am majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resource Management. I have been a member of SHRM since 2017.”
